Outreach to Eastern Europe

The development of in-house legal practice in Eastern Europe is one of ECLA's major priorities. Under the Cordoba Initiative, a dedicated programme designed to achieve this objective, ECLA has provided advice and assistance to existing associations of in-house counsel in the countries of the former Eastern bloc while encouraging in-house counsel in countries to establish such associations where none presently exist. National associations from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Lithuania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania have met ECLA standards and thus have been admitted to full membership of the confederation.
